I bought it because of DVD. I was hopping to get interactive studding. But DVD contain only 3 video interviews with USCIS officer, 5 quizzes (10 question each - some of them repeat each other from quiz to quiz) and some interactive menu links which open one of dialogs from one of three interviews. That's it. No 100 civic questions from history, no help with forms, no English tests or anything like it. DVD is useless unless you want to watch over and over interview where interviewed endlessly ask officer to repeat the questions.As for book, it's a waste of money. The book suppose to help you study history, help to fill up N400 (they could simply fill up it with fake info for sample sake) but it doesn't explain what needs to fill up in paragraph. let say Part4 paragraph B: "Care of______" care of WHAT?! The book does not give an explanation. There are more questions asking you in this book than answers explaining them like: "Why is voting both right and responsibility?" or: "What does the Statue of Liberty means to you? What do you think of when you see it?". The book does not have answers. And those only samples of questions.Another aspect of the book is it ask you "Find someone who has become a US citizen" to interview him. What is that?! Joke? The book suppose to give right and direct answers not to send you away for someone help who may be even does not have a correct answer.Another thing: "If you have trouble to apply for citizenship ... think of ways to find professionals in immigration and naturalization in your community ". The book send you away again! If I'd find professional why would I need this book?And last one, whoever did this DVD could use at least one actor with clear English and refer that interview in the book. Instead they selected girl who barely speak English. It's not only irritate but give you wrong stereotype of behavior and answers. The book and DVD suppose to teach how to do things right in right manner. Those interviews (they offered) could be as a sample of different people behavior but not a guide for exam. If I were you I'd look for another sources. Well one of them could be an info on USCIS official site. Or simply search on Google "USCIS The Naturalization Test" You'll get all what you need for free including video and studding material.PS. Fantastic for intermediate students. Not only for citizenship classes but for English learning as well

I am using this with a Korean student to help her prepare for the Citizenship Interview/Test. She likes the book and the DVD which has eased her anxiety quite a bit. General Dempsey's writing--paved with anecdotes and stories from his over 40 years experience in the military add rhythm to the pace of the book as well as solid teachable moments throughout. The lessons? I'll let you read and find for yourself. But I will say they are important lessons to say the least. If we ever needed to hear the message of this book we need it now. I love this! Radical Inclusion is going to be the leadership book for today's sharing economy. I have long wondered how is it that we can increasingly jump into the personal car of a complete stranger and yet seem to increasingly distrust established organizations and today's leaders?How is it that as our access to information dramatically increases, our views appear to become more narrow? In reading General Martin Dempsey's and Ori Brafman's chapter on the digital echo, I felt I finally had the language and a tool kit to be able to think about how and why we seem to be experiencing a time of such radical polarization -- a time when it appears we have lost our ability to converse calmly, debate rationally, listen empathetically and hear divergent points of view.For example, while talking about the "fog of war," Dempsey and Brafman present us with a powerful question: "What if the fog not only denied you access to the facts, but actually convinced you of the validity of erroneous data?" They go on to write that they predict "there soon will come a time when, despite using all the resources available to us, we will simply not be able to tell what is actually true."Unfortunately, I am afraid they are right. as someone who served as a CEO for 25 years, I wish I had this book to ready at the outset of my career. It is an easy read with a valuable framework, lots of insights and good stories. Read it over a weekend. After reading the book I was fortunate to interview General Dempsey in front of nearly 100 CEOs, and he is thoughtful, articulate and not at alll what i would have expected in four star general before I read the book. it was an inspiring evening. Not a feel good book or a work of political correctness at all. And its message and observations are extremely timely in this time of social media and polarization of views around opposing narratives instead of fact. It is of broad application for anyone with any leadership responsibility, whether at work, at home with the family, or in the community. Pretty amazing that the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (retired in Sept 2015) has had a decades long relationship with a tofu eating, Israeli born, adjunct prof at Cal Berkeley who specialized in peace studies but you'll need to read the book to find out why.

Overall, this is a great book on an effective leadership principle. The authors, General Dempsey and Mr. Brafman, separate the book into four main parts. The first two parts provide a description of todayâ€™s operational environment and the effectiveness of being inclusive. Part three is the main section which focuses on the leadership aspects of inclusiveness. Part four ties everything together.Of note is that the authors refer to another book by Mr. Brafman titled, The Spider and the Starfish. The leadership principles described here have a foundation in Mr. Brafmanâ€™s previous book and are supported by examples from General Dempseyâ€™s career. For example, he describes a meeting with a Captain at a forward operating base in Afghanistan. The captain argues that the US military needs to adapt its fighting objectives to more effectively combat decentralized organizations like the Taliban. Decentralized organizations are resilient because they are inherently inclusive. The Captain then makes reference to the authorâ€™s successful use of inclusiveness in a previous legal fight with McDonalds over veganism.Bottom line: The authors did an excellent job of describing the effectiveness of being inclusive. It is a leadership principle that every manager should practice. The book is a quick read at only 176 pages and anyone who is a leader, will get something from it.

I started reading this book on a Friday afternoon, and finished it a few hours later. I didn't want to put the book down, and all of the passages in it about leadership, emotions, neuroscience, and collective decision making were so relevant and meaningful.

General Dempsey and Professor Brafman peal back the onion of leadership in the 21st Century. The book is an extremely interesting read, as well as being instructive and insightful about leadership challenges in the 21st Century. Basic classics and some fun new recipes. Organized by theme. Fine if you are looking them for a recipe based on a theme, not the best if you are looking for types of treats. The themes are very cute and things kids will really enjoy.

My kids love helping me in the kitchen, so they were so excited when we got this book. They love flipping through the pages and picking the next dessert to make. All of the recipes are kid friendly which is perfect for my 4 and 6 year old!

Such a darling cookbook for kids! I love that each recipe has easy to follow instructions and big, bold photos. My boys want to make every treat in the book. Dessert time just got a lot more fun at our house!

My kids LOVED flipping through the pages and deciding what to make today! Highly recommend this book for moms or grandparents who like to bake with kids.

When you see the treats she makes using cookies, cupcakes, candies, etc. You will marvel as these simple ingredients turn into very extra special snacks.Katie Wyllie supplies the reader with information about the tricks, tools, and techniques you will use to make these treats. There are six categories of treats. For example included in the "under the sea treats" heading are directions/recipes for making cute Oreo crabs, Oreo frogs, Oreo turtles, and even Oreo pirates. The author does an excellent job of supplying the reader with the step by step directions and includes color photographs of the project.As I looked through the book, I envisioned hours of fun with my girls making the treats together. About the Author

Robert LaxÂ (1915â€“2000) was born in Olean, New York. At Columbia University he studied with Mark Van Doren and there began friendships with his classmates Thomas Merton and the painter Ad Reinhardt. I have this book memorized- we read it every night, and it always calms my twins down and helps them get ready to sleep. The cadence of the words is really soothing, and the repetition makes it easy to read on autopilot when you're tired too! The drawings are in pretty neutral colors, so they're soothing as well- although it's fun to watch what the baby's doing in the background! Older kids will like the animal noises as well. I've also used this in my classroom during "Around the World" units, and it's great for teaching about animals in Thailand (and having a mellow moment with the whole class!). This is one of my favorite books to give as a gift to new parents, and I highly recommend it!

I have bought Holly Meade's wonderful book Hush! Many times for birthdays and baby showers. This was the first time I bought the library binding. The cover is great but the inside pages are poorly printed and not true to the original colors of the cut paper colors! I would not buy the library edition again.

What a sweet store that is very poetic! This story is perfect for toddlers who love repetition and rhyming. This is a great story for a child from any culture and it gives a good introduction to animals in South Asia such as the water buffalo and elephant. Children will enjoy making the sounds of the animals along with each animal. The story ends on a heart-warming note.

I purchased this book upon the recommendation of a parenting blog, and I couldn't be happier. The sweet story paired with the fun noises that the animals make keep the attention of my toddler again and again. We have fun making the noises together and talking about the animals and what they do. It also introduced a few animals that my daughter was unfamiliar with, like the water buffalo. We have had fun learning about these animals too. "Hush" was one of the first non-board books that I purchased for my daughter, and as such required a little more care to prevent damage. However, this book makes a wonderful bedtime story, and I can see why this award-winning book came so highly recommended. I have since bought three more copies as gifts.

This is a wonderful book. My kids loved having it read over and over again and looking at the baby "sleeping". I liken it to Brown Bear, but with a little diversity to you child's baby book collection. It is my go to baby shower book.

This book was one of my daughter's favorite books. It features jungle animals and the sounds that they make (much more interesting than barnyard animals). The mother is trying to get all the animals to be quiet as her young child is sleeping. The fun part, though, is how the young child is awake and playing the whole time, an ongoing joke that children love. At the end of the book, the mother and all the animals are asleep while the child is happily (and safely) awake. A really fun read for both parent and child, colorfully illustrated. You'll have fun trying to make the animal sounds. Whenever I need to buy a baby book for a friend, this is my first choice.

I was looking for a book to hand down to my daughter from our Thai heritage and I'm not disappointed. The book is based on a lullaby so it goes without saying it has a pattern, not unlike how Dr. Seuss books do. I love this book and so does my daughter. She asks for this book all the time and "reads" it with me.

A cute story about keeping everything quiet so baby can sleep but in the end baby is curious. My great nephew asks for this story to be read over and over.
