I bought this for two reasons: because I loved the cover illustration and because my kids and I love When Dinosaurs Came with Everything (also by Broach). The story is cute, and the illustrations are great. I loved the ending - his sisters are cute, too. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I thought the parents were out of place (esp with family photos of trucks). Reminds of Mark Teague's work in the dinosaurs books by Yolen, but not as well executed.If you have a truck lover in your life, this is an excellent addition.
I LOVE this book!!!! Clever, sweet, funny, kind...it hits all the points necessary to make a child who has a tough time falling asleep feel loved and understood! The illustrations of the little bulldozer are so expressive and make for a cozy bedtime read!
