Update: Coming back to update my review after working through this book twice and found multiple incorrect solutions on top of basic arithmetic errors. Unless you can find this book used or deeply discounted, don’t bother.Original review:I’m only 5 problems into this book and I’ve already found two arithmetic errors. Considering the price I paid for this book, and the fact that’s it’s the second edition, I am not pleased with this purchase. Unfortunately, there are very few reliable materials with Construction Depth problems available.
Great problems to work through. I've got another 3 weeks to go until test time and these problems are helping me find points of emphasis that I need to work on. I have taken a practice exam and it appears that the test itself will have many more questions that are simpler in nature, but this is a fantastic reference to prepare you to solve multi-step problems in an efficient manner.
A lot of problems to study.
Harder than the actual test question but good to prepare.
Just what I needed to study for the PE exam
Absolutely useless as study material. The questions are very dissimilar to the NCEES exam. Waste of money
Most problems are fairly realistic which is a plus. Down side was when doing the homework from the class out of this book it wasn't uncommon to find that 40% to 50% of the problems had either an error in the solution, error in the way the question was asked, or overall just wrong. Good content bad execution on overall quality checks for accuracy. Maybe they'll get it right in the third edition.
