My dear readers, I am Kate O'Hearn, the author of the Pegasus series. I am not writing a review of my own book. However, reading the current reviews on Amazon regarding my latest Pegasus title, I am so very sorry for the confusion there has been on the titles of the Pegasus series. Please bear in mind that there is an American publisher for the Pegasus series, and the original English publisher. What has happened is the US series is just being released by Simon & Schuster - and they have changed the covers and titles. As the author, I had no say in this, nor did they do this to cheat my readership. I would also like it to be known that I love these new covers and titles; it is thrilling to finally see Emily on Pegs. However, it is unfortunate that some people have bought the English edition and now believe the US editions are the follow-on to the series. They are not. Here are the English titles and the US titles for each book in the series:Book 1 - English: Pegasus and the FlameBook 1 - US: Pegasus: the Flame of OlympusBook 2 - English: Pegasus and the Fight for OlympusBook 2 - US: Pegasus: Olympus at WarBook 3 - English: Pegasus and the New OlympiansBook 3 - US: Pegasus: The New OlympiansFebruary 19th - Update!!!!I can now reveal the US title for book 4... Please remember, it WILL have a different cover from the UK editions. I myself can't wait to see it!Book 4 - English: Pegasus and the Origins of OlympusBook 4 - US: Pegasus - Origins of OlympusAugust 9th - Update!!!Here is the title of Pegasus 5 - Remember, there are UK and US editions...Book 5 - English: Pegasus and the Rise of the TitansBook 5 - US: PendingOnce again, I am so sorry for any and all distress this title confusion may have caused you.Sincerely,Kate O'Hearn
My 12 year old daughter had this in her shelf for a few weeks before she opened it.She was working on the "Keeper of the Lost Cities" series. Well, she finished the third book during a long road trip, and brought this one as a "back-up". Well, She is a little over half way after three days, and we now have the next four books in our amazon cart. She loves it!
It was difficult to get my son (4th grader) to read but Kate's book changed that. She is an excellent writer and her book is fast pace and the story captures my son's attention. My son told me he loved the Pegasus books and wanted to read more. I was thrill to say the least. He has finished the first 4 books (in 2 weeks!) and now eagerly awaits for the 5th book (coming out end of this year). For someone who is having a hard time to get their little ones to read, try this one. It is not a huge book by any means and the story line is awesome. I would recommend this to a child who is not interested in reading any books. Worth a try!
This book is amazing and it is very similar to Percy Jackson, so I definitely recommend reading this fantastic book!
The first time I read this book I LOVED it! But then I went back and read it again and it got on my nerves. I LOVED the plot and the idea, but the characters. Emily just seemed like a whiny, annoying eight year old. She's all, poor me my dad's gone and I can't control my flame powers. It honestly just got on my nerves.
Reading the Pegasus series because an 11 year old great granddaughter told me about how much she liked the books. I wanted to understand her reading tastes better in order to know which books would make good presents for her. These books are well written, exciting, and have an interesting plot line, even to an adult.
This is just the beginning of a terrific adventure with many inventive surprises that will only make you want more. Excellent series for YA readers. Mythology reinvented with gods and goddesses with strong family ties. LOVED this original fictitious world. The moral compass did not falter throughout and wonderful characters evolved as the story progressed.
a gift, so I do not know anything about it other than my granddaughter likes this series
