LeBron has addressed various issues from his life, such as the lack of a father figure growing up, and the challenge of handling media with the knowledge that millions are looking up to you. It also closely follows LeBron’s basketball career, starting with his middle school AAU tournaments, his high school career and his immediate breakout into the NBA, forever changing the basketball hierarchy that’s previously existed. The book also touches on his family life. Even though LeBron is proud about the fact that his mother had raised him well, the lack of the father figure has been missed, and he intends to not do the same for his sons, by always being there for them. Despite all the high praise for LeBron he is without fault: in his career changing decision by joining the Miami Heat in 2010, he has shown more bravado than is needed and took on a villain persona throughout the season, which didn’t end up in his favor. All in all, this book is a must read for LeBron’s fans. It is still a good book for young people and casual basketball fans, as they will be able to relate to this work.
Purchased this as summertime reading for grandson. Also the biography of Stephen Curry. Great compare and contrast stories of two young men who excel in their sport; more importantly their values and life style. He loved both and it was a great conversation topic with grandma, who also loves basketball!
I was disappointed. I wanted to read more about his childhood and teenage yrs.
These books are well written. It’s a great gift for a teenager. It held his attention very well.
This was not what I was expecting at all. The book is very poorly written and not well organized. Some chapters are one or two pages, while others are 50ish.
I have not read it. but my grandson 9yrs old said he was halfway through the book when I called to ask if he got the book in the mail, That says it all for me!
I became interested in the NBA for the first time a few years ago, but even before I started watching basketball I knew who LeBron James was! This was a really interesting and in-depth book into his life and career, and I found all of the details about how he rose to fame fascinating. I'm still learning about basketball, but the skill James has is undeniable. I really enjoyed reading the details of the 2013 and 2014 NBA finals, since those were the first finals I ever watched. Reading about them now helps me understand what I was watching, and gives me a new appreciation for James' skill. If you love basketball and talented players, then this book will definitely keep you interested!
This book is great if you like sports this is the book to go it is great no spelling wrong great author if you love sports. And it tells you evrey thing about his life.
