I bought the whole set of three books in this series, attracted by their titles. Then I found not only they are almost useless, in terms of contents and organizations, but also the most carelessly edited IT books I have ever read.I would say that the books are useless to either beginners nor experienced programmers. They are over-simplified, self-repeating, and ill-organized pamphlets. I don't see any necessity to have a three-book series. Actually, I don't see any necessity to publish these books at all.I could tell that these books were created in a rush and with carelessness. In such a short book (I finished a thorough reading in less an hour), the authors used a lot of copying and pasting within the book itself. There are numerous errors. The most unbelievable one is that in Book 1, the entire Chapter 12 is a duplication of section 8.16, with even the typos being the same, e.g., the last line of the chapter "The value if 4", which should be "The value is 4".I have spent money and time on this garbage. I don't want the author and the editor to be awarded for their carelessness, so I urge everyone simply to skip this series.
Surprisingly good and the book quickly and efficiently covers all of the basic ground of C#: Learn C# FAST, enabling you to understand and build classes, methods, and the like with a good understanding of object oriented concepts and by the end of the book, you should be able to build command line C#: Learn C# FAST and i would recommend this book to someone who is trying to get a quick start on C# and very well written, reading seems like personal conversation and touch all the topics in the index with sufficient detail and every function of this language easily can understand how this book describes and it also gives some real practical example which will help very much and there is a lot of stuff to learn about this book and you can do it for a short time and there are just some commands that I cannot understand and apply. But still, this is a good book to learn about C# programming and i find this book a very helpful guide for the beginners who want to take C# programming course and i think this book would be perfect for those who are interested in C# Programming and the step by step instruction and examples given in this book are really very helpful and everything written in this book is as clear as day, I have no trouble understanding this at all.
Mr. Clark, who has had experience with programming for over 20 years, offers C#: A Detailed Approach to Practical Coding.I admit to only dabbling in program coding, but was able to read this book and feel as though I had a good resource to reference quickly and use efficiently.As well as breaking down different pathways step-by-step, there are over 80 specific examples visually showing the results of the formulas, so you're able to actually see for yourself that they work and implement and experiment with your own.Will definitely reference this book the next time I'm in the mood for playing with code.Highly recommended!
I'm not a big user of C#, but I still found this book easy to use and very thorough. One of the things I enjoyed about it was the many examples to showcase the concepts, such as statements and methods. Each chapter first defines the concept, then outlines the necessary steps, followed with several examples of each concept. Nathan Clark makes used of a "Things to Note" entry, which I found to be the most useful sections of the book. I really appreciated that he put these by each example to help with troubleshooting the code. This is the second book in the Step-by-Step Series, and is an intermediate guide.
This book contains more advanced C# programming tips than the first one in the series, but follows the same structure and patterns - each chapter is logically divided into sub-chapters and contains a multitude of examples which will make your learning process that much easier!
I believe I have read most of Nathan's books now. I use them to expand what I already know. I have become very comfortable to this style of writing and easy to follow charts. These books are always a great buy.
Don't waste your money. This is nothing but page after page of a sentence description of a concept followed by chunks of code. The descriptions aren't remotely helpful. Go with another purchase.
Another excellent way to learn to code. This is recommended for it easy step by step methods. I've enjoyed learning through all these books
